Biography:

Dr. Lee Salter teaches 7th grade Civics and Geography here at MMS. He is also an adjunct professor for Ashworth College in Norcross, Georgia. Previously, Salter was a mentor for new teachers, assistant football coach, site technology coordinator and assistant basketball coach. He has taught on the junior high school, high school and college levels.

Salter is a member of Greening Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons in Evergreen, Alabama. He is a past master within this organization. Currently, he is still an officer within the lodge.  

Dr. Salter comes from a long line of educators. His great grandfather taught in a one room schoolhouse. Later, his grandfather (Woodrow Jay) served as Transportation supervisor for Monroe County Public Schools. His uncle (William Jay) was a math teacher, assistant principal and supervisor for Monroe County Public Schools. He mother (Theresa Salter) recently retired as a teacher. She had over thirty years of experience. Recently, his sister graduated from the University of South Alabama with a degree in secondary education. Her area of specialization is Language Arts. As you can see, education is an imporant part of his family and background.

Salter has been married since 1998. He and his wife have a daughter who is currently in the fifth grade.
